This is a hands‑on, physical role involving accurate field testing across a variety of civil infrastructure projects. You’ll work in a supportive team environment with strong learning and development opportunities. The role may involve working outdoors in varying conditions, early starts, occasional overtime or night works, and some travel away from home depending on project requirements. Geotechnical field‑testing, sampling, investigating, and testing/ monitoring of ground material properties. Civil laboratory testing. Operation of heavy testing and soil sampling equipment. Monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation. Data entry and processing of results. Liaising with customers and engineers. Performing all work in accordance with our IANZ accreditation and project management system. The field technician will play a pivotal role in our business through project management and customer engagement. Full or restricted New Zealand driver’s licence (class 1) is required. Background of 2–3 years in physical, hands‑on roles such as labouring or farm work, ideally. Completed level 3 NCEA+. A good level of physical fitness and ability to lift items weighing 25kg+ on a regular basis. Similar work experience is preferred but not essential. Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word. Must be willing to get hands dirty and enjoy working outdoors. High standard and quality of paperwork. Troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. An appreciation of the importance of quality management systems and processes. Able to look at situations from both a commercial and customer perspective.
