Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and hands‑on Project Supervisor – Transmission Lines to join our team. In this role, you will provide technical support and oversee the successful delivery of transmission contracting projects from planning through to completion. Role Responsibilities Support the successful delivery of transmission projects from initial planning through to completion Assist with project scoping, estimating, work methodologies, job planning and risk assessments Coordinate labour, plant, materials and contractor requirements Provide day‑to‑day leadership and support to reporting staff, ensuring competencies, training requirements and workplace standards are maintained Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with approved scopes and maintain high standards of workmanship and safety Oversee field documentation, testing requirements, reporting, GIS data capture and participate in project reviews Drive continuous improvement initiatives across projects Maintain a proactive approach to safety, quality and customer service within the electricity industry What Northpower Offers You A people‑first culture built on safety, inclusion and wellbeing supported through EAP and peer support Fair, market‑competitive pay with flexibility for additional leave and increased employer KiwiSaver contributions Life insurance and preventative health initiatives Discounted group medical cover and health and fitness programmes Discounted fuel rates and retail discounts with partners such as Boost, PB Tech and Specsavers Ongoing learning and development with clear career pathways A welcoming, family‑friendly workplace that values individuality Experience National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Transmission Level 4 or Live Line Level 5) Current EWRB practising licence relevant to the role Sound knowledge of industry standards, codes of practice, legislative and regulatory requirements, the Safety Manual – Electricity Industry (SM‑EI) Experience with conductor stringing (110‑220 kV) and pi‑pole replacement Experience working with high‑voltage transmission lines Proven supervisory or leadership experience Strong planning, organisational and problem‑solving skills Ability to manage workloads and deliver outcomes under pressure Proactive approach to health and safety Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel Excellent communication and interpersonal skills About Us Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider serving Whangārei and Kaipara, with over 60 000 connected customers.
