Senior Business Analyst

Overview Senior Business Analyst - Contract role. Our client is looking to hire an experienced Business Analyst to work on a large programme of work. This will be a technically focused role and based in Wellington until June 2027. Key Deliverables Business and technical requirements – clearly documented functional and non-functional requirements. Current-state and future-state process maps – showing how processes work now and how they should work after change. User stories and acceptance criteria – written clearly so delivery teams can build and test against them. Data and integration requirements – including data flows, source/target systems, APIs, interfaces, and reporting needs. System impact assessment – identifying affected applications, processes, users, roles, and dependencies. Gap analysis – comparing current capability with required future capability. Work with Architecture on solution options and recommendations – outlining feasible approaches, risks, benefits, and constraints. Test scenarios and UAT support – helping define test cases, validate outcomes, and support defect resolution. Where required, work with stakeholders engagement outputs – workshop notes, decisions, assumptions, risks, issues, and agreed actions. Implementation support – input into change impacts, transition planning, training needs, and operational readiness. Handover documentation – ensuring support teams understand the solution, dependencies, and ongoing BAU requirements.
