Cafe Chefs/bakers Columbus Papamoa

We have an exciting opportunity to join our new Columbus Café at the New MEGA Papamoa. We are looking for 2 creative chefs to look after our breakfast and lunch menus and 2 passionate café cabinet bakers. The café will be located in the brand new Mitre10 MEGA Papamoa store, opening in October 2026. At Mega Papamoa we strive for excellence when it comes to our customers’ experience. What You’ll Be Doing Running daily prep and service with confidence and efficiency Keeping our cabinet stocked with delicious, eye‑catching items Delivering a‑la‑carte dishes quickly, consistently and to Columbus standards Upholding our FCP, allergen management processes and overall site H&S Ensuring equipment, cleanliness and compliance documentation are always on point Involved in production forecasting and team communication What You’ll Bring Solid experience in a high‑volume kitchen Strong skills in cabinet food, baking and cook‑to‑order service A sharp eye for presentation and portion consistency Comprehensive knowledge of Food Control Plans and Health & Safety Calm, organised leadership and clear communication under pressure Reliability, speed and a genuine love of quality Excellent baking skills – from muffins and scones to cakes, slices and biscuits About the Role This position is 40 hours per week, working 5 days over a 7‑day roster, including a weekend day. Shifts will vary from 6:15 am to 5 pm to deliver top‑notch breakfast and lunch service.
