Find out more at www.realsteel.co.nz About the Role As a Technical Sales Representative, you’ll sit at the front end of the business and play a critical role in connecting customers with the factory. This is an office based role acting as the link between customer enquiries and production, ensuring technical details, pricing and orders are interpreted accurately and communicated clearly. You’ll be working closely with customers to understand their needs, interpret part numbers and specifications, and provide accurate quotes and sales orders. This is a practical, detail-focused role that requires technical capability, strong communication, and a commercial mindset. You’ll enjoy being busy, managing multiple enquiries, and taking ownership for accuracy and outcomes. What you'll be doing Interpreting part numbers, specifications and customer requirements Providing technical advice and making informed recommendations to customers Preparing accurate quotes and processing sales orders Keying information correctly and maintaining a high level of accuracy Managing multiple customer enquiries at once and prioritising effectively Following up customer enquiries to ensure orders are complete, accurate, and delivered as expected Communicating clearly with customers by phone and email Working closely with sales and production teams to resolve queries and keep work flowing smoothly What you'll bring Strong technical capability and experience in parts interpreting or a similar technical, customer-facing role Confidence working with part numbers, specifications, and detailed product information Proactive problem solver with a knack for asking the right questions Commercial awareness with the ability to work comfortably with pricing, margins, and numbers Comfort working with computer systems and ERP or inventory software to process quotes, orders, and pricing accurately High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data entry and order accuracy The ability to multitask, prioritise, and stay focused in a fast-paced environment Clear, professional communication skills, both written and verbal A practical, reliable approach and a team-first mindset Why join Real Steel?
