DevOps Engineer (DevOps/SRE) – Christchurch, NZ (Full Time, Onsite) Xe lives currencies. We provide a comprehensive range of currency services and products, including our Currency Converter, Market Analysis, Currency Data API and quick, easy, secure Money Transfers for individuals and businesses. About the role We're hiring a mid-level DevOps engineer who likes owning real problems end-to-end, from infrastructure design and pipeline architecture through to incident response and on-call. What you'll do Own CI/CD pipeline reliability and developer experience across squads, including release gating, delivery automation, and rollback safety Build and operate multi-region cloud infrastructure on AWS, including identity (Cognito), networking, and disaster recovery Partner with engineering and architecture on AI-accelerated SDLC tooling adoption across the org Own production observability and incident response for shared infrastructure, including on-call rotation Use agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent) daily across the SDLC What we're looking for Must-have 3 to 6 years building and operating production infrastructure end-to-end Must-have Strong experience with AWS in production, including multi-region setups, IAM, networking, and managed services Must-have Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling CI/CD pipeline ownership (GitHub Actions or equivalent), including release gating and delivery automation Must-have Container orchestration experience in production Must-have Experience operating a production observability and monitoring stack, including SLO definition and alerting Must-have Production incident response experience, including on-call rotation Must-have Daily use of agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent) across the SDLC Must-have Strong written and verbal communication Nice-to-have Experience with payments, FX, or regulated-industry infrastructure Nice-to-have Experience with cloud-native identity platforms Nice-to-have Experience with security and compliance in regulated environments Nice-to-have Experience with enterprise database resilience (Oracle or equivalent) Nice-to-have Experience in a globally distributed team with 24/7 ops coverage Equal Employment Opportunity Xe is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
