Job Description

Team and Services Advisor Operations Support, National Service Delivery – 1x Permanent and 1x 12‑month Fixed Term opportunities. The National Service Delivery unit (NSD) provides a range of justice services to court participants around Aotearoa/NewZealand that assist with administering the court system. These services include: Administering legal aid for those who cannot afford a lawyer Collecting court‑ordered fines, reparation and legal aid debt Transcribing activities in the courts Judicial library support Developing training and guidance material for all court and Ministry staff Providing a centralised customer call and high‑volume application processing service Responsibilities Provide timely, accurate, comprehensive and tailored advice to business unit managers and frontline operations Develop operational policies, guidelines and initiatives within NSD Resolve issues and lead continuous improvement functions Support and occasionally lead service improvement initiatives Release information to Ministers and Parliament, and respond to parliamentary, justice stakeholder, court participant and public requests for information Manage, process and draft responses to requests for information, ministerial correspondence and Written Parliamentary Questions Collaborate with other business units to ensure responses meet statutory requirements, align with publicly available information and are issued within relevant timeframes Skills and Qualifications Superior writing skills Excellent attention to detail Strong customer focus Efficient prioritisation skills Ability to work well under pressure Project experience Stakeholder management and relationship building Support service delivery and business improvement through a service design methodology in a complex and changing environment Exceptional communication skills Understanding of the Machinery of Government Well‑developed risk radar and problem‑solving ability Proven resilience and ability to work as part of a dynamic and multifaceted team About the Team The Ministry of Justice welcomes and supports people of all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, disabilities and religions.
