About the Role As a Health Care Assistant in the Orthopaedic Department, you will support Registered and Enrolled Nurses with patient care and ward activities, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations. Your role will include assisting patients with daily tasks, maintaining equipment, completing delegated clinical and clerical duties, and helping to create a positive, safe and efficient ward environment. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, treating all patients with dignity and respect, supporting their comfort, and contributing to effective patient flow. About the Team/Service/ Location The Orthopaedic Department at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldier Memorial Hospital provides care for patients undergoing acute and elective orthopaedic procedures. Youll be part of a collaborative, supportive team of nurses, allied health staff, medical staff and administrators who value professionalism, teamwork and patient‑centred care. About you NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance, or be enrolled and actively working toward it, or willing to commence within six months of employment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Respectful, patient‑focused approach with a commitment to confidentiality. Reliability, initiative and the ability to adapt within a busy clinical environment. Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equitable care.
