About the Role As a Health Care Assistant, you will support nursing and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high‑quality care to patients in the Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation Unit. You will assist with a wide range of activities that contribute to patient comfort, safety, and recovery, working under the guidance of Registered and Enrolled Nurses. This is a varied, practical role where no two days are the same. You will be involved in supporting patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting with administrative and technical tasks. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring patients feel supported and cared for throughout their recovery journey. About the Team/Service/Location The Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation Unit provides care focused on recovery, rehabilitation, and safe discharge planning. Based at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital, you’ll be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering patient‑centred care. About you As a Health Care Assistant, you will bring: A Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or working towards it) A caring, respectful, and patient‑focused approach Ability to work effectively as part of a team Good communication skills and willingness to follow direction Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive care Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
