Organization : Mercor Position : Bioinformatics PhDs Referral Partner : Crossing Hurdles Type : Hourly Contract Compensation : $60–$90/hour Location : Remote Commitment : Part‑time (10–40 hours/week) Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided) Develop benchmark tasks to evaluate AI models’ abilities to autonomously design and execute complex bioinformatics workflows. Work with raw sequencing data and natural language prompts to simulate real‑world bioinformatics scenarios. Apply tool proficiency, deep biological knowledge, and rigorous scientific reasoning to create and validate these benchmarks. Collaborate asynchronously with a highly skilled research team. Ideal Candidate Current graduate student or degree holder (M.S., Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Scientist) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a similar quantitative field. Experienced with bioinformatics command line tools. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem‑solving skills. Proficient in written and verbal communication.
