You will be part of the Parliament IT Customer Service team, which is responsible for delivering high‑quality support and service to parliamentary customers. The team manages technology incidents and requests through phone, email, in‑person and self‑service channels, while also championing a strong customer‑service culture across Parliament IT. This is a dynamic, fast‑paced environment where no two days are the same. You will work closely with skilled and supportive colleagues, providing frontline and onsite technical support across the Parliamentary precinct and to out‑of‑Parliament offices. It’s a collaborative, social team that values initiative, technical capability, and continuous improvement. Mō te tūnga | About the role: Our Customer Technical Engineers play a key role in supporting Parliamentary staff and customers, including Members of Parliament, Ministers, and other parliamentary agencies. This is a hands‑on technical role responsible for providing advanced support across desktop and mobile environments, supporting MPs and Ministers in a high‑impact IT environment and working across Windows, M365, iOS, and Android. You’ll focus on troubleshooting, device provisioning, hardware and software support, and maintaining consistent, standardised technology platforms. You will also act as an escalation point for more complex desktop and mobile issues and contribute to improving processes and support practices. Key responsibilities include: Troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware/software issues including Windows11, iOS, Android, Microsoft365 applications. Building, deploying and managing hardware and software requests. Supporting Electorate and Community offices and precinct stock logistics. Collaborating with vendors and internal teams. Providing guidance and knowledge‑sharing across IT support squads. Building strong relationships between IT and our key customers. Escalating complex desktop and mobile issues. Tō kete | What you will bring to the role: Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft365, Active Directory, networking, VPNs, and mobile platforms. Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills. A proactive, customer‑focused mindset. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Flexibility to respond to urgent issues and work extended hours. Why work for Parliamentary Service?
