An excellent opportunity for a Clinical Specialist Anaesthetist to join the world-renowned tertiary hospital in New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora, Te Toka Tumai Auckland. Permanent, full-time or part-time positions available. We are looking for a qualified Specialist Anaesthetist to join us, working alongside a friendly and collaborative team of anaesthetic specialists, fellows and registrars; who has a genuine interest in Women’s Health Anaesthesia. This is a permanent, full‑time position, based in Auckland City Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre. Whilst the position is full‑time, we welcome applications from suitable candidates who are seeking less than full‑time commitment. Responsibilities Maintain high standards of practice and patient care, including appropriate pre-operative and post-operative management Ensure the implementation of clear policies for communication and responsibility for patient care with junior staff Maintain accurate records Participate in teaching at specialist training courses and ad‑hoc education of Resident Medical Officers, medical students, technicians, nurses, midwives and other staff as required Keep up to date with current trends and developments in anaesthesia and in the utilisation of technology Regularly review clinical performance as part of maintenance of professional standards Be encouraged to carry out or assist with appropriate research to improve knowledge or standards of patient care For further information, please contact Dr Matthew Drake, Service Clinical Director at [email protected]. Qualifications As the ideal candidate, you will have clinical experience in some or all of the clinical areas listed above and will either be registered or be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
