Position Overview The STEAM Teacher is responsible for implementing engaging, hands‑on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics for elementary and/or middle school students. This role leads classroom instruction, manages student behavior, ensures safety, and fosters an environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and Christ‑like character. Employment: After‑School August 2026 – May 2027 Approximate Hours: 10‑15 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, approximately 3:00 PM‑6:00 PM, shifts are flexible. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Plan and implement age‑appropriate STEAM curriculum and activities Lead hands‑on, project‑based learning experiences Create a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment Supervise students during instruction, recess, lunch, and field trips Integrate biblical worldview principles into STEAM instruction Collaborate and supervise aides Communicate professionally with parents as needed Prepare materials and maintain organization of STEAM supplies and equipment Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation Ensure compliance with all CSCS safety policies and procedures Model servant leadership and Christ‑centered character at all times Commit and fully support the missional and organizational standards including our Core Values, Mission Statement and Doctrinal Statement, and Statement of Faith and Christian Beliefs Other duties as assigned Qualifications & Skills Experience working with children (required) Teaching experience or related background in education preferred Strong classroom management skills Organized, proactive, and self‑motivated Strong communication and leadership skills Willingness to complete required training including CPR certification, basic first aid, child abuse awareness, emergency procedures, and standard precautions Preferred Experience Experience in education or youth leadership Background in STEM/STEAM fields Robotics, coding, engineering design, or project‑based learning experience Experience with youth camps, enrichment programs, or after‑school programs Ability to adapt curriculum for multiple grade levels This description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities or skills associated with this job.
