Employment Details Position: Nurse Coordinator – Nursing Workforce Development Time Commitment: 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week) Contract Type: Fixed-term, covering parental leave until 15 June 2027 Location: Manawa, Antigua Street, Christchurch Central, New Zealand About the Role The Nurse Coordinator will lead nursing research initiatives and support workforce development across Waitaha Canterbury. The role focuses on advancing research, promoting nursing careers, and coordinating awards, scholarships, and key engagement activities. Key Responsibilities Lead nursing research initiatives and manage related projects. Coordinate awards, scholarships, and key engagement activities to promote nursing careers. Collaborate with nursing leaders, education providers, and healthcare partners to support professional development, research, innovation and excellence in nursing practice. Act as a liaison for the nursing workforce across the Aged Residential Care system. Team Initiatives Supported Supported First Year of Practice (SFYP) – RN and EN Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) and Nursing Ākonga Clinical Placement Facilitation Clinical simulation and postgraduate education Nursing research and specialist nursing projects Nursing recruitment initiatives Aged Residential Care workforce liaison Qualifications Registered nurse with experience in nursing research. Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills. Passion for nursing workforce development and career promotion. Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and holding a current Annual Practising Certificate. Relevant Master's qualification. Experience working within Health New Zealand.
