Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and maintaining electrical equipment to meet customer requirements across substation and distribution environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical regulations, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. A tool of trade vehicle is provided for the role but is limited to work use only. Role Responsibilities Construct, install and maintain electrical equipment to meet customer requirements in substation and distribution environments. Carry out all electrical work in line with industry regulations and company standards. Keep accurate records, documentation and reports for all work completed. Take full ownership of the tasks you’re responsible for, ensuring quality and accountability at every stage. Apply strong problem‑solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly and safely. Qualifications A certificate in Electrical Engineering or currently working towards one (advantageous). Applicants must be in New Zealand and possess a current work visa. Experience Experience working in substations (11kV–110kV) and/or distribution network equipment (400V–11kV) in either construction or maintenance. Strong focus on safety and compliance. A team player with good communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude. Logical thinker with strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities. Practical aptitude across both mechanics and electronics. Able to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the task. Physically capable of meeting the demands of on‑site work.
