Hours: 0.94FTE (4 on, 2 off pattern) Shifts: Morning, Afternoon and Night Shifts Status: Permanent Location: Hillmorton Hospital About the Role Te Awakura (Adult Inpatient Group) is a 64‑bed adult inpatient unit that provides 24hr care to consumers experiencing acute mental illness. The unit is divided into four wards – North, East, South, and West – representing the four quadrants of Christchurch. We are passionate about working with consumers who always have their best interest at heart, and we offer a supportive team culture with opportunities for growth and development. Responsibilities Basic consumer care Assisting the clinical team with a variety of tasks Ensuring that our consumers have the best experience possible Taking consumers on outings within the motu Skills and Experience Kind and caring nature Excellent communication High levels of confidentiality Ability to build relationships with people from all walks of life Previous experience in Mental Health or a similar role is desirable but not essential A full NewZealand driver’s licence Health and Wellbeing Certificate desirable Equal Opportunity Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of NewZealand.
