Job Description
Responsibilities Bridging practice and education: Translate real‑world paramedicine experience into engaging, evidence‑based teaching that prepares students for the clinical, ethical, and decision‑making demands of pre‑hospital care. Developing future clinicians: Mentor and assess students across academic and simulation settings, supporting their progression toward safe, competent, and reflective professional practice. Contributing to the discipline: Engage in curriculum design, scholarship, and industry collaboration to ensure paramedicine education remains current, clinically relevant, and aligned with professional standards and workforce needs. Work full‑time (37.5 hours per week) at AUT’s South Campus. Qualifications A Postgraduate qualification in Paramedicine or a related healthcare field is required. Paramedicine registration is not required if candidates bring relevant expertise applicable to paramedicine education. Teaching: Early‑career academics should have some teaching assistant experience. More experienced candidates should have lecturing experience, evidence of curriculum development, and preferably experience supervising Masters and/or PhD students. Research: Early‑career academics should have a solid research pipeline and a job‑market paper available. More experienced candidates should have an established research programme, a proven track record with quality publications, and ideally success in external funding bids. Benefits & Salary Salary range: $94,000 – $112,000 per annum (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience). Full‑time position: 37.5 hours per week.
