Job Description
Structural Engineering Intern (Nov 2026) Internship in Structural Engineering within the Transportation business line. As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will work with experienced engineers on the design, assessment, inspection, and construction of bridges and other civil structures. How you’ll make a difference Assist with structural analysis, design calculations, and technical documentation (e.g., load assessment, member sizing, reinforcement detailing, preparation of drawings and technical reports). Set up and run finite element analysis models, apply loads/boundary conditions, conduct basic checks, and interpret analysis results. Participate in bridge and structural inspections and condition assessments, support site logistics and safety, capture field notes and photos. Assist with feasibility studies and options assessments for structures renewal and improvement projects. Support project delivery, including construction monitoring, site visits, technical coordination and management of project information. Contribute to a collaborative team environment and learn from engineers across disciplines. Bachelor’s degree: penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering (structural focus). Preferably holds a full New Zealand driver’s license. Commencement: able to work full‑time hours from 16 November 2026 – 19 February 2027. Working rights: full working rights in New Zealand required.
