Location Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital, Hutt Hospital, Kapiti Health Centre, Wairarapa (outpatient clinics) Service Renal Service Contract Permanent, part time (0.85 FTE) Salary As per ASMS SECA About the role An exciting opportunity exists for a Consultant (Senior Medical Officer – SMO) Renal Physician to join our team. The role provides a full service for the management of acute and chronic renal disease to the central region of New Zealand (Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District and Wairarapa District), with home dialysis services to Nelson/Marlborough District. This includes outpatient consultations, inpatient services, renal transplant services and a comprehensive pre‑dialysis service. The service has a strong focus on home‑based dialysis (peritoneal and haemodialysis) and operates satellite centres at Kenepuru and Hutt Valley. The in‑centre dialysis unit at Wellington Regional Hospital serves the increasing demand for assisted haemodialysis. Outpatient clinics are also provided at Wellington, Hutt, Kenepuru and Kapiti hospitals. About the Team / Service / Location The Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley Renal Services team is dynamic and diverse, working closely together in a collegial environment that emphasises a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and strives for the best possible outcomes. About You • Vocationally registered in Internal Medicine (Renal/Nephrology) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) • FRACP or equivalent qualification and able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ • Ability to work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team • Consistently able to deliver high standards of medical care Qualifications • Appropriate training and experience for a consultant level renal physician • Experience in acute and chronic renal disease management, home dialysis, and transplant services is desirable Other Information We do not accept recruitment agency applicants. #J-18808-Ljbffr
