ABIRehabilitation has an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with aninterest in brain injury and experience in rehabilitation to join ourprogressive inter-professional team in theIntensiverehabilitationservice. This role will involve providing occupational therapy serviceswithin our inpatient rehabilitation service from the immediate post-acute phasethrough to community re-integration. You will be working with a team of Therapistswithin an interdisciplinary team. This is a growing service and therefore there are lots of excitingopportunities for service development and quality improvements. WhyABI Rehabilitation? ABIRehabilitation is the lead provider of intensive adult in-patient brain injuryrehabilitation in New Zealand, serving over 85% of this population. Weare the only provider in Australasia to have attained the CARF Accreditation,an international gold standard for person centered, quality rehabilitation. Ourideal candidate will be a dedicated occupational therapist with excellentcommunication skills, sound knowledge and strong clinical reasoning skills, anda demonstrated track record of teamwork. A minimum of two (2) years of clinicalexperience in neurorehabilitation is preferrable, however, open to allcandidates based on experience. Thecaseload is varied, and key areas include: Cognitive assessmentand rehabilitation Functional assessment Individual and groupintervention Assessment and trial ofequipment including wheelchairs and seating Education of clientsand families/whānau Community reintegrationand managing graduated return to home Wecan offer excellent opportunities for professional development within asupportive and cohesive interdisciplinary team environment. Regularsupervision and in-service training will be provided. Previous experiencein acquired brain injury rehabilitation is highly preferred.
