Underwriter – Financial Lines & Casualty At AIG, we are reimagining the way we help customers manage risk. Join us as an Underwriter to play your part in that transformation, contributing across Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, and Multinational Clients. Key Responsibilities Underwrite across Financial Lines and Casualty products for renewal and new business within authorized limits and profit‑centre guidelines. Establish and maintain strong customer and broker relationships, including indigenous and international broking firms. Assist with rollout of new products and initiatives. Serve clients and brokers across New Zealand and present product‑specific training and pitching where required. Attain and maintain expertise in all product lines, staying current with changes and developments. Seek opportunities for cross‑sell initiatives within the Profit Centre and with other Profit Centres. Keep abreast of market changes and trends. Qualifications Recognized insurance qualification and/or relevant tertiary degree. Experience in Financial Lines and Casualty underwriting. Well‑rounded business background across multiple functions (e.g., underwriting, marketing, operations, finance). Risk assessment skills, including new business reinsurance negotiations and renewal retention strategies. Analytical mindset and strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills. Understanding of how decisions impact the organization and its bottom line. Strong financial and quantitative capabilities. Technology acumen and awareness of trends that impact business. Knowledge of product development, targeted marketing, and distribution channels to contribute to top‑line growth. Stays informed on external issues affecting the function and the organization.
