Water Treatment Operator Location: Central Hawke's Bay. What's on offer Competitive remuneration Time and a half after 8 hours daily Time and a half after 40 hours weekly On call allowances, where applicable Meal allowances, where applicable A great team focused working environment Opportunities for professional growth and development Stable employment with a reputable, world leading, 3 waters Network focused organisation Meaningful work that contributes to the well-being of our community and keeps the cogs of society turning Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) through assure which covers mental health, nutrition, financial, legal, coaching and career transition support What you'll be responsible for Operate and maintain the water treatment assets and plant Troubleshoot and problem solve faults and defects that affect continued operation Installation and repair of water treatment assets, such as valves, pumps, analysers etc. Undertake quality sampling of water samples in accordance with regulatory requirements Act as a point of contact for customer requests for service Accurately log all reports and jobs, completing the necessary paperwork and filing where required Be present onsite to oversee contractor activities – this involves working reasonable and regular amounts of overtime, in a variety of weather conditions at multiple locations Positively contribute to the district based operations teams by fostering effective working relationships with field, engineering and management staff, client representatives and customers and suppliers Assist and support other departments in the execution of their duties Undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client and customers What you'll need to be successful Hold a NZQA or equivalent professional or trade qualification in Water and/or Wastewater network construction or operations and maintenance Experience in a similar role, and knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure, systems, processes and standards Understanding of wastewater treatment operations, maintenance activities and criticality of operations requirements Understanding of resource consents and their criticality An understanding of SCADA systems Valid driver's licence Effective communicator with strong work ethic, confidence, personal integrity and autonomy Planning and organisational ability, can work well under pressure and quickly adapt to changing circumstances Strong commercial acumen, analytical, problem solving skills as well as good literacy and numeracy skills Fairness, Diversity & Inclusion At Veolia we value diversity, equality and inclusion, we are committed to providing working environments where everyone is included and treated fairly and with respect.
