About the role As our Head of Digital Solutions, you’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of digital products and platforms that support Tauranga City Council’s long-term plan and deliver measurable value for our community. This is a senior leadership role within Digital Services, focused on turning strategy into prioritised, funded and delivered digital initiatives that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, resilience and trust. Responsibilities Lead a high-performing digital delivery function across products, platforms and programmes. Translate strategy into prioritised roadmaps aligned to funding, growth and community needs. Partner with executives, elected members and stakeholders to deliver digital initiatives. Drive value from digital investment through governance, benefits realisation and reporting. Support scalable, secure and sustainable digital services for Tauranga’s communities. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you’ll bring significant senior leadership experience in digital delivery, programme or portfolio management, and enterprise-scale technology environments. You’ll be confident leading teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering digital transformation in a complex, multi-stakeholder setting. Experience in digital delivery frameworks such as Agile, Waterfall or hybrid approaches. Strong programme, portfolio, commercial and vendor management capability. Experience supporting enterprise-scale ERP environments, ideally modern SAP platforms. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills. A good understanding of ICT management frameworks, architecture, DevOps and cloud platforms. The ability to work with governance boards, elected officials or senior decision-makers. Experience in local government, or a similarly complex operating environment, would be an advantage.
