Attendance Mentor and Support Coordinator Burnside High School | Te Kura o Waimairi-iri is seeking an Attendance Mentor and Support Coordinator to join our Student Support team. This permanent, term-time-only position offers up to 30 hours per week and is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to succeed. Working alongside our pastoral teams, families/whānau and external agencies, you will support students whose attendance is becoming a concern and help remove barriers that impact their engagement with school. The successful applicant will build positive relationships with students and families, work collaboratively with deans and support staff, monitor attendance patterns, coordinate interventions, and contribute to programmes that encourage regular attendance and participation. The role also involves liaising with external agencies and supporting the school's attendance initiatives. We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational abilities and a genuine commitment to student wellbeing. Experience working with young people and families in an educational, community or social services setting would be an advantage. Confidence using digital systems and maintaining accurate records is essential.
