Job Description
Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Careers advisor Subjects – English, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The Arts. A community empowers ākonga to experience success, ready to embrace their future. Due to the pending retirement of the current Head of Careers Programmes, we seek an experienced and proactive person to lead the delivery of careers education and guidance within the college. Glendowie College has a future‑focused curriculum and is recognised for its academic rigour and success. Instead of NCEA Level 1, our Year 11 Pathway programme is focused on learning and preparing for NCEA Level 2 and 3. Academic success is promoted to the highest level, including NZ Scholarship. Most of our students engage in further study upon leaving college. You will be responsible for designing and overseeing a comprehensive careers education and guidance programme that prepares students to transition successfully from college into tertiary education or employment. This is a permanent, full‑time position and receives 1 Salary Unit (SU), 1 Middle Management Allowance (MMA) and the Careers Allowance. The role starts on 28 January 2027.
