Job Description

Wellington based | Full-time | Permanent 4.4 weeks annual leave | Wellness allowance after 12 months Midpoint of $72,225, dependent on experience. Ko tōu ake mahi - What you’ll do Provide proactive, high-quality support to senior leaders by managing diaries, communications, and priorities to ensure the smooth running of their day-to-day activities. Coordinate meetings, briefings, and events end-to-end, including logistics, documentation, and follow‑up actions. Anticipate needs and manage competing priorities, identifying risks and ensuring key deadlines and deliverables are met. Enable executive and ministerial processes by triaging requests, coordinating inputs, and maintaining oversight of sensitive matters. Build strong working relationships across the Ministry and with external stakeholders, acting as a key point of coordination and collaboration. Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing administrative processes, supporting onboarding, and maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you’ll bring Demonstrated experience working within the machinery of government, with a strong understanding of public sector processes, protocols, and stakeholder environments. Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively, manage competing demands, and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines. Strong judgement, discretion, and professionalism, particularly when handling sensitive information and supporting senior leaders. Highly developed communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships at all levels. Experienced EA with strong MS Office capability and confidence engaging across senior stakeholders, including Ministers’ offices where required.
