Job Description
We are looking for a number of Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor positions at various levels, to be based in Sydney. These roles would suit somebody with 5‑7 years of experience in Commercial/Contract Management within the infrastructure sector, or a Senior Contracts Administrator who wants to take the next step in their career. Responsibilities Client Claims: Contributing to the preparation of contract claims and reviewing financial information. Client Communication: Managing communication between Turner & Townsend and the client. Contract Negotiation: Leading the negotiation and supporting the agreement of contracts with clients and project stakeholders. Financial Management: Managing project budgets, providing commercial management services, producing and presenting financial statements, and offering timely commercial advice. Transactional Compliance: Monitoring transaction compliance (e.g., deliverables, costs, forecasting and invoicing) and producing insightful reporting for Senior Executives. Risk Management & Compliance: Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, identifying financial and contractual risks, and implementing risk mitigation strategies. Continuous Improvement: Reviewing and developing new processes to streamline transactional activities. Relationship Building: Proactively building relationships with key stakeholders and developing business opportunities. Mentorship: Mentoring and supporting the professional growth of junior colleagues. Qualifications Demonstrable experience in managing the commercial aspects of complex, large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary projects in transport and/or infrastructure. Between 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role. A passion for delivering exceptional client service. A high level of attention to detail. Strong communication and facilitation skills, with a natural ability to build relationships. Other Qualities that Would Be Advantageous Experience in NEC contract management. Chartered membership of a relevant industry body (e.g., RICS/AIQS). A recognised degree in a technical field: Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Commercial Management.
