About the role The Metabolic Dietitian Advanced Clinician is an Allied Health professional providing an advanced level of allied health care and expertise both in direct care delivery and support to other staff. The Advanced Clinician will work primarily in the National Metabolic Service with a focus on care delivery and will contribute to the profession through the local application of contemporary, evidence‑based practice and policy that contributes to developing and implementing a high‑quality service in the area of specialty locally and regionally. About the Service / Location The Adult and Paediatric National Metabolic Service is based in Auckland at Starship Children's Health. It is a lifespan service that sees children and adults from all around the country. The service is on call for the whole country and does at least annual clinics in almost all centres, depending on the need. It supports patients through the journey that these complex disorders bring for them and their whānau. Qualifications and experience A recognised profession specific tertiary qualification i.e. Masters in Science (Nutrition and Dietetics), Masters of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) or equivalent. Registration with Dietitians Board of New Zealand. Current Annual Practising Certificate with no condition on scope of practice. A total of 6 years postgraduate experience including equivalent of four years full time experience within the area of specialty. Proven clinical leadership within the area of specialty. Relevant clinical postgraduate certificate/diploma (PG Dip) or equivalent. Working towards completion of relevant Masters degree.
