Job Description

This position is fixed-term, part-time (0.6FTE) until February 2027. As the Analyst – Kā Āu Kahuraki , you’ll play a key role in supporting cross-agency efforts to prevent harm and improve outcomes for tamariki and whānau. You’ll use data to uncover insights, identify trends, and inform early intervention strategies grounded in kaupapa Māori and community perspectives. Your work will directly support collaborative decision-making and contribute to the success of this important initiative. Responsibilities Analyse and interpret data to identify drivers of harm and opportunities for early intervention. Develop clear, accessible reports and insights to support cross-agency collaboration. Maintain and manage datasets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Ministry priorities. Provide timely analytical support to internal teams and external partners. Salary range: $74,815 - $89,182 per annum plus KiwiSaver. You are a curious and detail‑oriented analyst who thrives in a collaborative, purpose‑driven environment. You bring a strong background in data analysis and reporting, with a passion for using insights to support initiatives that improve outcomes for tamariki and whānau. Qualifications Experience working in a complex organisation or multi‑agency environment. A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in data analysis, statistics, or a related field. A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence. Key Skills and Commitments Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience using data tools and software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in plain language. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development. The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
