Teacher of Health and Physical Education Full time, Long-term relieving (LTR), Start Date: 28/01/2027 (Refreshment Leave) Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher. Health and physical education. Epsom Girls Grammar School, Te Kura Tuarua o Ngā Taitamāhine o Maungawhau, is a school that strives for excellence in performance, connections between people, and pastoral supports. We focus on growing women of great character, valuing courage, aroha, community, and manawa reka woven through governance, classroom, co‑curriculum, and informal interactions. We are a large, urban girls’ school with 2,300 students. Staff teach towards the national qualification, NCEA, and from 2026 will also offer Cambridge International courses where appropriate. The co‑curriculum includes sports, visual and performing arts, cultural expression, and charity and service opportunities. Staff are expected to support this programme by coaching or managing teams and groups. Our experienced health and physical education team enjoys excellent onsite facilities and leads numerous camps and off‑site learning experiences. Responsibilities Deliver health and physical education lessons for Years 7–15, helping students meet NCEA standards. Support, coach, and manage sports, arts, cultural, and service groups as part of the co‑curriculum. Lead camps and off‑site learning activities designed to enhance student well‑being and physical development. Qualifications Certificated teacher, qualified to teach secondary (Years 7–15). Experience teaching health and physical education NCEA curricula is an advantage, but not required for appointment. Strong collaborative mindset and high level of professional skill.
