Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic with advanced diagnostic capabilities and strong mechanical expertise. Responsibilities Undertaking vehicle servicing efficiently and economically. Ensuring repairs and maintenance meet company standards and minimise after-hours breakdowns. Supporting the Workshop Foreman with vehicle service scheduling and planning. Completing and updating vehicle fault sheets upon completion of repairs. Providing after-hours breakdown support when required. Maintaining accurate work records, time records, parts usage, and job descriptions. Entering fleet maintenance data into the fleet management system. Maintaining a clean and compliant workshop environment. Participating in workshop meetings and contributing to operational improvements. Assisting with parts management, purchase orders, and supplier coordination. Monitoring overdue servicing and vehicle off-road (VOR) issues and escalating concerns where necessary. Providing guidance and mentoring to apprentices. Complying with all health and safety requirements and participating in health and safety initiatives. Requirements Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic working on heavy transport equipment such as trucks and trailers, buses, or coaches. Proven experience with Euro 5/6 engines, engine and gearbox repairs, and diagnostics on Scania, Volvo, and MAN vehicles. Proficiency in using diagnostic systems to identify and rectify vehicle faults. Experience in MIG welding and fabrication. Hold a Class 2 and Class 4 Driver Licence, or an equivalent overseas licence. Strong technical knowledge with a commitment to ongoing professional development. Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet English language requirements (PTE Academic score of 29 or IELTS overall band score of 4.0). Ability to build positive working relationships and work effectively as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic plays a key role in servicing and maintaining fleet vehicles while contributing to efficient workshop operations and supporting apprentices' development.
