About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Clinical Pharmacist, who will join our dynamic Pharmacy team. You would be expected to provide high-quality, effective clinical pharmacy services within a variety of complex critical care caseloads whilst working in a multidisciplinary supportive team environment. The role includes participation in ward rounds, medicines reconciliation, discharge counselling, dispensary services, and promoting the safe and quality use of medicines. Actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing quality improvement activities, and contribute to the development of guidelines, procedures and protocols to support the continuum of care. Guide, mentor and supervise early career pharmacists, and provide education to work experience or observational pharmacy students. This role would suit a pharmacist with at least three years of clinical hospital experience in critical care. This role includes the opportunity to participate in the on-call roster as needed, which includes working weekend shifts compensated at overtime rates. Health New Zealand Taranaki is also fortunate to have its dedicated eMedication management team who work closely alongside our Pharmacy department to lead medication management in the various data and digital platforms across the hospital. About you We are looking for a Pharmacist who has the ability to work and contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team, has excellent time management skills, is able to communicate effectively with organisational members across all levels, and holds high standards of ethical and professional practice. You will be able to identify improvement opportunities and lead the development of the provision of pharmacy services by undertaking projects and contributing to multidisciplinary working parties / committees to deliver great patient-centred care. Our ideal candidate will have the following: Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a current annual practising certificate from the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand, under the provisions of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (if you are applying from outside New Zealand, please tell us the registration route that applies, and what stage of that process you are currently at). Previous Critical Care Pharmacist experience and/or extensive hospital pharmacy experience (at least 3 years). A commitment to continual professional development and the ability to keep abreast of current knowledge and accepted practices.
