IT Tutors - Fixed-term contract, Teaching in China Fixed-Term Contract (2 Positions) October - December 2026 Are you an experienced IT educator looking to expand your horizons? WelTec is offering a unique opportunity for two motivated professionals to join our growing transnational education (TNE) programme in China. This is your chance to gain invaluable international teaching experience while delivering New Zealand’s Bachelor of Information Technology curriculum at our partner institutions in China. The Opportunity This role is ideal for educators who thrive in dedicated environments, enabling you to focus your expertise on a single subject and engage with your students throughout their learning journey. Depending on your subject expertise and availability, you may be contracted to teach one or more courses during the delivery period, providing a unique chance to build your international portfolio and global professional network. You will be fully supported by the Whitireia & WelTec (W&W) transnational programme, which includes competitive compensation and coverage for approved travel, accommodation, and approved daily living expenses while you are teaching in China. Subject Areas Introduction to Databases and Data Science Information Security Software Development Communicating in IT About the Role As part of our international teaching team, you will: Deliver practical and student-centred teaching sessions, including lectures, labs, and tutorials. Prepare and adapt course materials to ensure they are current and relevant for the Chinese delivery context. Manage assessments and provide constructive feedback to support student success. Work within a focused block mode delivery format. What We Are Looking For To be successful in this role, you will bring: Academic Excellence: A minimum of a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field. Teaching Experience: Relevant tertiary teaching or tutoring experience, preferably in a polytechnic or university environment. Technical Proficiency: High confidence using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital teaching tools. Professionalism: Strong communication and classroom management skills, with cultural awareness necessary to work effectively in an overseas setting.
