About Us The Allied Health team are looking for a NZ registered Occupational Therapist with a specialist interest in Mental Health to join our team of enthusiastic and dedicated multidisciplinary professionals. We have a small team of Occupational Therapists who work together to provide a generalist service across inpatient and community-based health services for the community. This role offers a range of experiences across a wide spectrum of specialties and allows you to advance your practical skills. What you'll do Assessment and treatment of Manaakitanga Mental Health inpatients with appropriate goal setting and outcome measures Support transition from inpatients into community Work as an integral part of the inpatient & community inter-disciplinary teams Liaise with all appropriate health professionals and other agencies to ensure we achieve the best outcomes for our patients Provide education for the families/whānau and carers of our patients as necessary About You We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist who has worked within a mental health scope of practice for at least 3 years to join our multidisciplinary team. It is essential that you have Minimum 3 years working as a Mental Health Occupational Therapist The ability to work effectively under pressure The ability to be an effective team member, recognising the importance of teamwork The ability to work independently, yet seek support when needed Strong communication skills and cultural awareness Flexibility with excellent time management Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
