Acting Head of Delivery (FTC 6 months) Acting Head of Delivery (FTC 6 months) . This position reports to the GM – IT and involves overseeing 3‑5 direct reportees (Practice Managers, RTEs) and around 30‑40 indirect reports, including contractors from other agencies/providers. It focuses on stabilising delivery performance, strengthening delivery processes, and maintaining momentum across the delivery community during a critical transformation period. The role is based in Auckland CBD with a flexible & hybrid arrangement (ideally 3 days from office). Compensation: 220kp.a. to 240kp.a. (approx.), negotiable for the right candidate. Immediate joining required. Responsibilities • Provide strong, practical leadership through change, blending delivery leadership, organisational change, and people leadership at scale. • Ensure the organisation continues to deliver complex change reliably, ethically and sustainably, maintaining a strong delivery system and a connected delivery community. • Work closely with stakeholders such as Data, Customer Experience, P&C, Scrum Master practice, and support all practices and BAU work in technology. • Collaborate with senior leaders, Boards or executive teams to deliver large, complex delivery portfolios. • Build or evolve delivery models in complex organisations. • Lead delivery governance, risk and transformation contexts with credibility. The ideal candidate Senior delivery leader with extensive experience in Scaled Agile and delivering at delivery level. Has led large, complex delivery portfolios (not just individual programmes). Has worked closely with senior leaders, Boards or executive teams. Has built or evolved delivery models in complex organisations. Has experience across both technology and business change. Strong people leader – comfortable coaching, developing and supporting leaders and teams. Brings credibility in governance, risk and transformation contexts. Pragmatic, practical approach not wedded to a single framework. Comfortable working in politically nuanced environments, building trust and navigating competing priorities.
