Job Description
Principal Fluvial Geomorphologist Our Primary Industries group has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Fluvial Geomorphologist. The role involves conducting geomorphic and flood risk assessments, providing design support, and delivering natural resource solutions. You will offer sound technical advice, lead projects within Primary Industries and across the wider WSP business, mentor team members, and serve as a subject‑matter expert and technical reviewer. This principal‑level position focuses on fluvial morphodynamics, requiring strong field and desktop skills, GIS proficiency, and a solid foundation in numerical modelling, geo‑analytics and/or hydraulic/geomorphic design. Positions may be located in the Palmerston North, Hamilton or Christchurch offices. Qualifications Postgraduate qualification with specialization in Physical Geography, Geomorphology, Hydraulic Engineering, Engineering Geology, Hydrology or related fields. 10–15 years of experience in applied geomorphic assessment and/or design. Proficiency in hydraulic and/or landscape evolution modelling software. Strong field‑work skills. Current, clean driver’s licence. #J-18808-Ljbffr
