About the Role As an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (O&GSpecialist), you will provide medical and surgical care related to pregnancy,childbirth, and the female reproductive system, addressing a wide range ofhealth concerns from routine antenatal care to complex gynaecologicalconditions. In additional, you will teach and develop our junior medical team. The successful candidate will have provenexperience in general obstetrics and gynaecology, with an interest anddemonstrated competency in colposcopy. You will play a key role in theassessment, diagnosis, and management of patients, ensuring quality andcontinue of care for those referred to colposcopy services. About the Team/Service/ Location The Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) service atWairau Hospital provides high-quality care for women at all stages of life, frompregnancy and childbirth to gynaecological health and well-being. Our obstetricservices include antenatal care, labour and delivery, with a strong focus onpromoting safe and positive birth experiences. The hospital offers awell-equipped birthing unit and provides care for women with low tomoderate-risk pregnancies, with clear pathways for transfer to tertiaryservices when required. For gynaecological care, we offera wide range of services, including the management of menstrual disorders,menopause, pelvic pain, and gynaecological surgeries. The O&G team at WairauHospital works closely with primary care providers, midwives, and otherhealthcare professionals to ensure seamless, coordinated care. We are dedicatedto supporting women and their families with expert guidance, advanced medicaltreatment, and a commitment to excellence in women's health. Beeligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational scope of O&Gwith the Medical Council of New Zealand. Bringtheir O&G expertise and competencies to contribute to the advancedtreatment and medical care of the female patients in the region. Haveexperience in advanced laparoscopic surgery and pelvic floor surgery. Holdor be eligible for C-QuiP certification for colposcopy.
