Job Description
About the Role Be front and centre with operations, building credibility on the ground, not from behind a desk. Own ER cases end-to-end, developing confidence through doing, not observing. Step up and take initiative, spotting issues early and acting on them. Influence leaders in real time, helping them navigate people challenges. Hybrid working: 4 days office, 1 day home. What You’ll Be Doing Lead ER cases across attendance, performance, and early‑stage issues, applying sound judgement to find practical, fair outcomes. Partner daily with leaders, coaching them to handle people challenges confidently and effectively. Coordinate onboarding and the wider employee lifecycle, ensuring consistently positive experiences. Manage events and benefits, bringing the employee experience to life through company‑wide initiatives, onsite provider engagement, and benefits administration. Identify gaps in processes and take the initiative to improve how things are done. About You We’re looking for someone who brings energy, ownership, and a bias for action. You might still be growing your HR career, but you already show that you: Step forward in situations rather than waiting to be asked. Bring energy and presence when working with people on the ground. Are confident handling employee queries and getting involved in real issues. Take initiative to improve things, even when it’s not formally your responsibility. Are comfortable in a practical, blue‑collar environment where relationships matter. See something not working and think “I’ll take care of that.” What You’ll Need to Bring HR Advisor or strong Coordinator experience with hands‑on ER exposure. Confidence dealing directly with employees and operational leaders. Examples of initiative and stepping up beyond your remit. Ability to build credibility in a fast‑paced, on‑site environment. A proactive, energetic approach to problem‑solving. About the Company We’re partnering with an organisation making a genuine impact in the manufacturing and engineering sector, employing several hundred people across both sides of the Tasman. Built on decades of excellence, they’ve earned a strong reputation through continuous innovation, quality delivery, and a commitment to sustainable practices. With a down‑to‑earth, people‑first culture and a strong sense of community, this is a place where you’re not just joining a business, you’re becoming part of a team where people are supported, developed, and trusted to succeed. NOTE to overseas enquiries and non‑NZ residents: Whereas we welcome international enquiries, only applicants that are legally entitled to work in New Zealand and can make themselves available for interviews in New Zealand will be considered for advertised positions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
