Commercial Account Manager

As a Commercial Account Manager,you’llsupport a portfolio of established commercial customers, working closely witha team of experienced bankersto understand each business and its banking needs. Through Connected Customer Conversations you’ll provide insightful partnership perspectives and outcomes for our customers to be the biggest supporter of Aotearoa Businesses.You’llanalyse financial performance, prepare lending submissions, and gain exposure to a wide range of industries and lending scenarios — from growth and expansion throughto day-to-day working capital requirements. This is a role where you’ll see how your work directly supports businesses and contributes to the economic success of the region. You’llprepare clear,wellstructuredcredit submissions for new and existing customers, drawing on financial statements, forecasts, and business insights to support informed lending decisions.You’llassistwith portfolio management activities including reviews,monitoring, and responding toa range ofbankingneeds of Commercial clients. Helping todeliver practical banking solutions across lending, transactional banking, and relatedproducts, you’llalso support the effective management of credit and operational risk, ensuring customer needs are met in a responsible and sustainable way. The role includesclose connection with customers, giving you the opportunity to build confidence in commercial conversations while developing your broader banking capability. This is a full-time permanent position based at the ASB North Wharf Head office in Auckland. You’re likely coming from an accounting, finance, or commercial analysis background, with strong experience interpreting financial statements and understanding howbusinesses operate. You enjoy analysing information, forming commercial insights, and understanding the drivers behind business performance. You may be looking for a role that offers greater variety, broader exposure, and closer customer engagement than traditional accounting pathways. Prior commercial banking experience isn’t required — we’re looking for strong analytical capability, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. Foundational in this role is clear written and verbal communication skills, a customer focused mindset, and the ability to translate financial information into practical recommendations. A relevant tertiary qualification is helpful but not essential.
