Job Description
As the funds management arm of Avanti Finance Group, we're looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Auckland based team. This is an opportunity to step into a broad, hands on role where you'll gain exposure across the full spectrum of funds management. You'll work closely with experienced leaders, contribute to key investment and funding decisions, and play an important part in shaping how the business grows. Rather than being confined to a narrow specialist function, you'll be involved across reporting, analysis, liquidity management, fund operations, process improvement and investor related activities, giving you genuine end to end exposure. What you'll be doing: Preparing monthly and quarterly reporting across a range of funds and investment vehicles Gathering, analysing and interpreting financial and operational data Supporting cashflow forecasting and liquidity management activities Assisting with fund administration and investment operations Producing meaningful insights that support business and investment decisions Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting and efficiency Contributing to the implementation of new systems and reporting capabilities Working closely with Treasury, Finance and other internal stakeholders This is a varied role where you'll be involved in much more than reporting. We're looking for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, asking questions and helping find better ways of doing things. What we're looking for You’ll ideally bring: Around 3 to 6 years' experience within funds management, investment operations, treasury or financial services Experience working within a fund, KiwiSaver provider, investment manager, superannuation fund or similar environment Strong analytical and reporting skills Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with large datasets Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools would be beneficial A qualification in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline A solid understanding of how funds operate and the wider investment environment Most importantly, you’ll be someone who can hit the ground running and is eager to contribute from day one. This is a rare opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of growth. You’ll be part of building processes, reporting and best practice rather than simply following what has always been done. You’ll see the direct impact of your work, gain exposure to senior decision makers and learn across a wide range of funds management activities. As the business grows, so will the opportunities. You’ll have the chance to broaden your skills, take on greater responsibility and help shape the future of the team. If you're looking for a role where you can make an impact, continue learning and build your career in funds management, we'd love to hear from you. What's in it for me? Within the Avanti Finance Group, you can look forward to flexible and hybrid working as we offer up to two days working from home following your initial training period. We give back to our communities through our support of Duffy Books, and by offering an Annual Volunteer Day for you to use for a purpose that's close to your heart. We believe in celebrating diversity, and we also celebrate talent and development by working with you through an established capability framework that puts you in the driving seat of your development while achieving business goals. You won't find a gender pay gap here, as we have great remuneration packages but as we all know there's more to an awesome job than the money. If you are happy and fulfilling your potential, while feeling supported, valued and empowered, then that’s a win for us! Fresh fruit, My Everyday Wellbeing Memberships, and increased Kiwisaver match is there for you to feel good from the inside out. Even as we scale, our values remain our compass: People First: We care deeply – for our team, our customers, our partners, and our communities. This is a place where you’re supported to show up as yourself and do your best work. Relentlessly Helpful: We roll up our sleeves and make things happen. Whether it’s helping a customer, an introducer, a teammate, or your own career, we’re here to make the impossible possible. Do What’s Right: No shortcuts. No ego. Just doing the right thing, every time. Trust and transparency are at the heart of how we do business. We’re building a workplace where people are challenged, supported, and inspired to do their best work – because when our people thrive, so does our business. At Avanti, you’ll be joining a team that’s as ambitious as it is grounded in purpose. We’re not just growing fast – we’re growing to be the best. Come be part of something that’s making a real difference. #J-18808-Ljbffr
