Datacenter IT Technician Trainee (6 months), Data Centre Operations, Auckland

You will work with the world’s largest computing infrastructure, learning daily operations at a large data center, troubleshooting servers and network equipment, and collaborating with logistics, networking, and security teams. Key Job Responsibilities Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot all hardware and related problems. Perform basic OS troubleshooting and basic configuration troubleshooting. Perform hardware replacement to support repair actions. Perform storage media (HDD, SSD, etc.) sanitization and destruction tasks. Maintain a high level of system reliability by prioritizing resolution of trouble tickets efficiently. Follow DC operations, logistics, security, and safety related processes and guidelines. Practice and enforce Amazon’s security and safety best practices. Basic Qualifications Minimum one year of computer hardware or computer network troubleshooting and repair experience. Must be able to lift and rack equipment with lifting equipment. Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to travel between sites. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in IT or relevant discipline. Linux knowledge. Networking knowledge. Passionate about IT infrastructure and hardware. Additional Information We are looking for candidates to commit to a six‑month trainee contract, providing coaching and periodic assessments to develop skills.
