About the Role The Patient at Risk (PaR) Child Health team is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and experienced nurse to join our team as a Nurse Consultant. The Patient at Risk (PaR) service is a nurse‑led team within Starship Child Health, focused on the management of children at risk of deterioration throughout Starship Hospital. The PaR model seeks to proactively respond to deteriorating patients in a focused manner as well as provide a clear escalation pathway and response. The Nurse Consultant promotes, facilitates and co‑ordinates a culture of nursing excellence in the team. The Nurse Consultant role is accountable for the quality of nursing care with a focus across the patient healthcare journey, contributing to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives and supporting nursing teams in delivering evidenced based nursing practice. The PaR Nurse Consultant will also work closely with colleagues responsible for the continued development of strategic direction in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and Child Health Directorate.
