Full‑time Vet Nurse – Veterinary Care | Point Chev Join our lovely group of Vet Nurses, Vets, and dedicated Receptionists who will support you in your journey and help you grow. This position would suit an experienced Vet Nurse who thrives in a busy, progressive veterinary clinic and wants to develop their leadership skills in the industry. We value the importance of work‑life balance. This role covers 40 hours per week and are shared evenly throughout the Vet Nursing team, with no after‑hours work and 1 in 3 Saturdays rostered. Nurses are encouraged to use all aspects of their nursing knowledge including placing of IV catheters, blood and urine sampling, monitoring of anaesthesia, hospital monitoring and treatment as well as triaging consultations and providing routine nursing consults. We have a great network of resources shared across our clinics, giving us access to ultrasound, advanced dentistry, in‑house blood analysers and digital radiography. All staff have the same common goal of providing gold‑standard care to our patients and clients. Responsibilities Breeze through a pug nail clip, temperamental “occluded” drip pump and surprise in your scrub pocket. Appreciate a thick juicy cat abscess, the satisfaction of a Labrador lipoma and successful retrieval of an embarrassing household item via emesis. Recognise a hyperthyroid cat from a mile away, smell ketosis and know a yeasty snowman when you see it. Provide first‑class client education even if their pet “will be kept quiet” and “won’t lick the stitches.” Manage a perfect threading of your dehydrated cat’s IV catheter FIRST TRY, take bloods blindfolded and manage a doppler like a master. Qualifications A Veterinary Nursing qualification and experience. Experience, initiative and an eagerness to work. A warm friendly personality. Great communication and organisational skills. A sound knowledge and understanding of Veterinary Nursing procedures.
