Job Description
We are seeking a designer who will work closely with our Trade and Retail customers to help create functional, stylish and innovative interior solutions. You will be responsible for maximising the sales in our Interiors categories - kitchens, bathrooms, laundry, wardrobes etc. You will guide customers through the process from the initial consultation to project completion whilst demonstrating excellent customer service and product knowledge. A key part of this role is actively listening to customers, understanding their individual needs, preferences, and lifestyle requirements, and translating these into practical and inspiring design solutions. Daily Responsibilities: Take clear brief from customers and discuss all aspects of creating, remodelling, or updating the kitchen and/or bathroom area of their home. Discuss building materials, themes, colours, patterns, and room layout with a customer and produce sketches and drawings based on their requirements. Consult customers via phone and email. Seek out value‑add solutions for internal and external customers. Build effective relationships with our Trade and Retail customers by offering product support, technical information, and interior design solutions. Act as a people‑person who thrives when supporting our customers to provide a winning in‑store experience. Play a vital part in direct sales, getting orders pulled and ready for dispatch, and merchandising and maintaining aisles within the showroom. Support our Showroom Team when necessary alongside our trade support team. This is a permanent full‑time role, offering 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday + Rostered Saturdays at our Paraparaumu Branch. About You: Experience in designing kitchens, bathroom, laundry, flooring, and wardrobes is advantageous. Customer Service/Sales experience, confident and a clear and accurate communicator who can deal with challenging demands and time frames. Polite, professional, and accommodating when assisting our customers. High standard of personal presentation and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time‑management skills to meet tight deadlines and company targets. Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Suites, including Excel; other computer programs desirable – experience in Winflex would be desirable, as would CAD or a design background.
