The Role The Technical Counter‑Surveillance Unit (TCU), operating within the National Cyber Security Centre defends NewZealand from the most serious and complicated malicious cyber activity. Our foreign adversaries are often well‑resourced, highly‑skilled and good at concealment. As such, we need to be constantly aware of who the real adversary might be, what their objectives and targets are, and how best to uncover their trail and defeat them. The role is point of contact with other international technical security agencies and will provide you with a unique opportunity to broaden your existing skillset, and to develop your experience through an established career path. Who We Are Looking For We are seeking a talented Technical Threat Analyst to work as part of a tight‑knit team of security professionals within the National Cyber Security Centre. Whether you are early in your career, or an industry expert, we want to hear from you. Working in a talented team of security professionals, you will be analysing multiple sources of information and intelligence about technical intrusions and working with a diverse customer set across both the public and private sectors. Your work will support the Technical Counter‑Surveillance Unit by producing analytical risk‑based assessments of technical threats to NewZealand’s security and intelligence environments. You must: Have been a NewZealand Citizen for at least 10 years OR Hold a current NZ Residency Class visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) clearance.
