Overview Nau mai, haere mai ki Ūpoko ki te uru hauora. Our opportunity: Permanent Surgical Registrar positions available with an allocation of Orthopaedics. Role Details Ongoing 2027 Orthopaedic allocations for strong candidates. Commencing as soon as possible or 3 August 2026. Later start possible for overseas candidates. Surgery allocations are across Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa (Masterton) Hospitals. The Wellington Region Surgery RMO positions are rotational across multiple hospitals, including Wellington Regional, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa (Masterton) Hospitals, meaning you may rotate to any of these sites during your time with us. If you are successful in gaining a position, the service will do their best to accommodate run preferences stated within your cover letter. The Wellington Region offers runs in General Surgery; Vascular; Paediatric Surgery, Cardiothoracic; Neurosurgery; Urology; Otolaryngology; Orthopaedics; Plastics. General Surgery covers Colorectal, Endocrine, Breast and Upper‑Gastrointestinal surgery. Vascular includes endovascular work and kidney transplants. RMO salaries are calculated based on relevant previous years of experience and the average weekly hours of work as set out in the relevant run description. For the current salary bands, please refer to the current Multi‑Employer Collective Agreements. Experience & Eligibility Suitable for Resident Medical Officers who will be PGY3/F3 or above by the role commencement date. You must have eligibility for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
