About this role Regional Leadership Advisor – two fixed‑term, full‑time positions. Commencing 28 January 2027. Located in the Bay of Plenty region, based in Tauranga. 1–2 year secondment. Reports to a Director of Education and is part of the Te Mahau leadership team. Provides face‑to‑face and remote support to school principals, clusters and larger groups. Facilitates collaboration and transformational change across primary and secondary schools. Responsibilities Support and coach other principals to address leadership challenges. Provide timely advice and support on school management, strategic and instructional leadership. Facilitate the sharing of good practice and innovative approaches to curriculum design. Work collaboratively with regional colleagues and national networks. About you Highly experienced current or recently retired school principal (within last 12–24 months). Deep first‑hand knowledge of the principal’s role and responsibilities. Experience in both primary and secondary sectors, with ability to work across both. Strong leadership, integrity and ability to coach others. Willingness to adhere to Public Service Standards of integrity and conduct. Mana and status in the sector, able to relate well with others.
