Job Description

About The Organisation Our client is a well‑established infrastructure business with a strong market position, long‑tenure customer relationships and a high‑quality asset base generating consistent, recurring revenue. It serves a blue‑chip customer base of leading New Zealand organisations with business‑critical requirements and has a clear strategic mandate to grow. About The Opportunity This is a newly created General Manager role with full P&L accountability for a business at a genuine inflection point. The GM will lead the transition to a fully standalone operating model while executing on a compelling growth strategy in a sector with strong structural demand. The business holds a differentiated market position with significant capacity for growth; the opportunity is to build the commercial relationships, organisational capability and operational rigour to capture it. This is a role for a leader who is energised by both the complexity of operating within a larger group and the freedom to build something genuinely compelling. Key Responsibilities Lead the transition to a fully standalone operating model, building the commercial infrastructure, internal capability and governance required to operate with independence and accountability; drive commercial growth by expanding the customer base, deepening strategic partnerships and increasing utilisation of a high‑quality, capacity‑rich asset base. Deliver strong financial and operational performance, owning the P&L, ensuring asset reliability and resilience, and building a high‑performing team with a clear culture of accountability. What You’ll Bring Senior leadership experience in infrastructure, utilities, telecommunications or a related asset‑intensive sector, with a record of commercial growth and leading organisations through change. Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management capability, comfortable operating within a larger organisational structure while maintaining the commercial edge and pace of an independent operator. A builder’s mindset; you translate strategy into execution, develop high‑performing teams and are energised by growing something significant from an already strong base. What’s on offer? A high‑profile executive role with genuine P&L accountability and the autonomy to shape strategy and culture of a business with real growth potential. Organisational backing and the resources to support ambitious growth, with the autonomy to lead and build without unnecessary constraint. A sector with strong structural tailwinds and a business with the assets, relationships and market position to capitalise on them; the foundations for a genuinely compelling growth story are already in place. #J-18808-Ljbffr
