Line Mechanic at North Power NZ

Line Mechanic Location: Palmerston North, NZ. This full‑time onsite position offers opportunities for career growth. We’re looking for an experienced, safety‑focused Line Mechanic to join our Construction and Maintenance team. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the reliable delivery of electricity across our network by constructing and maintaining overhead lines and operating key equipment up to 33kV. Responsibilities Construction and maintenance of overhead electrical lines, ensuring all work meets customer, project, and network requirements. Contribute to developing work plans for the construction, servicing, and upgrading of electricity lines and associated equipment. Install and replace overhead conductors and pole structures as needed. Overhaul non-load‑bearing pole hardware in electrical networks up to 110kV and operate both ground‑mounted and structure‑mounted electrical equipment for lines up to 33kV. Work safely, efficiently, and maintain a consistently high professional standard. Qualifications EWRB Registration – Line Mechanic (required) NZ Driver Licence (required) HT Licence (highly desirable) Additional competencies relevant to the network or customer (advantageous) Skills & Experience Proven experience working on overhead lines. Strong commitment to safety, with an excellent safety record. Reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers. Experience within an electrical maintenance and construction environment.
