Mo tenei turanga mahi | About the role The School of Veterinary Science - Wildbase is seeking a Practicing Veterinarian/Senior Practicing Veterinarian in Wildlife Pathology to join our team at Wildbase, Massey University's Manawatu campus in Palmerston North. This position is a full-time, fixed term opportunity from September 2026 to June 2027. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to conservation and wildlife management within a collaborative and forward‑thinking academic environment. You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality pathology services to the New Zealand Department of Conservation and contribute to postgraduate education, advancing research and scholarship, supporting student success, and engaging with professional and community stakeholders. The position also contributes to the University's commitment to excellence, collegiality, and its responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. In this role, you will: Lead the provision of diagnostic pathology services for conservation organisations and stakeholder groups. Contribute to postgraduate training, including specialist supervision in areas such as wildlife pathology. Contribute to the postgraduate teaching in wildlife pathology. Contribute to postgraduate student research. Engage in community and professional service, strengthening relationships with industry, iwi, and stakeholder communities. Mou | About you You will have a relevant Veterinary degree registerable in New Zealand, with a minimum qualification of memberships in the ANZCVS (pathology) or specialist qualifications in pathology being preferred. Demonstrated experience in wildlife pathology preferred. A minimum of experience in the provision of timely diagnostic pathology service. Teaching and research experience in a university or other tertiary teaching environment is desirable. Ko nga hua o te turanga? | What's in it for you?
